Flint Generals News Release
FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals of the United Hockey League have signed free agent defenseman Justin Spencer. Spencer will make his Generals debut Friday night when Flint hosts Bloomington at Perani Arena.
Spencer, a 25 year old native of Tweed, ONT, was signed as free agent after being released by the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL. He appeared in five games for Victoria without registering a point and accumulating six penalty minutes. He played four years of college hockey for Colgate University and spent last season playing in France.
"Spencer will be a steady defensive presence for us, he is a defensive defenseman, and we need to be solid defensively as a team, especially as playoffs approach and Spencer will help us." Said General Manager Al Sims. "He has a strong background having played his college hockey at Colgate. We were fortunate to be able to sign him and bring him in."
The Generals host the Bloomington Prairie Thunder on Friday and the Kalamazoo Wings on Saturday at Perani Arena. Both games begin at 7:30p.m. and tickets are available at the Perani Arena box office.
