Generals Name Mike Brown Equipment Manager

The Greensboro Generals have named Mike Brown as the team's equipment manager for the 2003-04 season. Brown has worked with the franchise throughout its entire five-year existence in Greensboro.

"Mike has been a very hard working and valuable member of the Generals' organization," said Matt Brown, Generals chief operating officer. "With his experience, I am sure he will excel in this position and continue to be a great asset to the coaching staff and players."

Prior to being named equipment manager, Brown held the title of assistant equipment manager. He first learned all aspects of equipment management and repair during the Carolina Hurricanes' two seasons in Greensboro as a locker room attendant under the tutelage of Wally Tatomir, Bobby Gorman and Skip Cunningham. A native of the Triad, Brown will soon be retiring from a full-time capacity as Asst. Chief/ Fire Marshal with the Greensboro Fire Department after serving the City of Greensboro for over 30 years.

The Generals home opener is October 17th at 7:30 PM against the South Carolina Stingrays. Among the Generals' 36 home games are seven Fridays, seven Saturdays and 10 home games on Thursday. All Thursday home games will be "Thirsty Thursday" nights, with the Greensboro Coliseum selling $1.00 draft beers.
