Generals look for back to back wins against Muskegon

FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals will look for back-to-back wins over the Muskegon Lumberjacks when the two teams hit the ice at LC Walker Arena in Muskegon tonight (Friday) at 7 pm.

The Blue and Gold snapped a four game winless drought last night with 6-5 overtime triumph thanks to the winner by Matt Elich with just 20 seconds remaining. It was his second of the game to go along with an assist. John DiPace figured a four-point game including two goals and two assists. The game almost got away from the Generals as they let a 5-2 lead vanish in the final frame.

Tonight's game has the Generals looking for their third Friday night win of the season and third on the road and is also a chance to give the Lumberjacks their first loss on home ice this season.

Kyle Deck, Greg Bullock and John DiPace lead the Generals away from home with three goals apiece. DiPace has fired 21 shots on goal on the road. Jordan Alford has both of the club's victories.

The Generals and the Muskegon Lumberjacks have one common stat so far this season regarding specialty teams. Flint has not scored a shorthanded goal for, while the Lumberjacks have yet to yield at goal against while on the power play.

Fans can tune into tonight's game on Unforgettable 1470 WFNT and www.flintgenerals.com, beginning with Countdown to Face-off at 6:40 pm. The voice of the Generals Denis J. Puska has the play-by-play call at 7 pm. The game can also be viewed on line courtesy of the B2 Networks, but a high speed internet connection is necessary in order to view the game.

The Generals return home to Perani Arena and Event Center on Saturday when they host the Port Huron Icehawks at 7:30 pm. There will be a food drive sponsored by Love Inc and fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items on their way into the Arena. It's also Send Santa To Baghdad Night and fans are encouraged to bring Christmas gifts like CDs, DVDs, footballs, soccer balls, and books and help pack the bus in support of the Mid-Michigan troops serving overseas.
