Jackson Generals News Release

Chattanooga, Tenn. - Less than twelve hours after wrapping up a 14-inning affair Tuesday night, the Generals played Chattanooga again in a game they would go on to lose 7-2 Wednesday at AT&T Field. The Lookouts had 12 hits over eight innings versus four Jackson pitchers to take the series.

Jackson (30-29) is now 0-5-1 in its last six series after losing for the third time in four games versus the Lookouts. The team's last series win came in early May, when the team took four of five from Mobile.

Chattanooga (33-26) jumped out to an early lead in the third Wednesday morning. After loading the bases on two hits and an error, Dan Gamache lashed a bases-clearing triple into the left-field corner with two outs. The Lookouts made it 4-0 in the next inning on T.J. White's first home run of the year.

Taylor Clarke (5-3, 2.55) went four innings in his 12th start of the year, surrendering four runs (one earned) in the loss. He struck out five and walked just one, but needed 98 pitches. Over the team's last three games, the bullpen has had to throw 20.1 combined innings.

It took until the fifth for the Generals to get to Felix Jorge (6-1, 3.32). Kevin Medrano led off with a double before moving to third on a fly out. With two away, Colin Walsh singled up the middle to plate Jackson's first run. In the sixth, Oscar Hernandez made it 4-2 with a solo shot he hooked around the left-field foul pole. Hernandez has three home runs in his last four games.

Yuhei Nakaushiro pitched again Wednesday after recording the save late Tuesday night, allowing just one hit in two innings of work. The Generals were within two until the seventh, when Chattanooga scored three runs on four hits against Joey Krehbiel. LaMonte Wade, Jonathan Rodriguez and T.J. White all drove in a run to make it 7-2.

Chattanooga's Felix Jorge struck out nine over 6.2 innings, allowing two runs on seven hits to pick up the win. Raul Fernandez (S, 1) entered with the Lookouts up two in the seventh and finished off the game to earn his first save of the season.

Jackson will try to right the ship in the series finale Thursday night at AT&T Field. Josh Taylor (4-4, 4.26) takes the mound for the Generals, while Chattanooga has not announced a starting pitcher. First pitch is set for 7:15 pm ET/6:15 pm CT, and fans can catch all the action online via the TuneIn Radio App starting with the Pregame Show at 7:00 pm ET/6:00 pm CT.

The Generals return home for one final series of the First Half in Jackson Friday, June 9.
