Generals and Shuckers Rained out Thursday
June 21, 2018 - Southern League (SL1)
Jackson Generals News Release
JACKSON, TENN. - The Jackson Generals and Pensacola Blue Wahoos had their planned 6:05 pm CT first pitch postponed on Thursday, as inclement weather caused unplayable conditions at The Ballpark at Jackson. The two sides will play a double-header on Friday, June 22, beginning at 4:05 pm CT at The Ballpark at Jackson to account for the postponement.
Game one on Friday will feature Generals right-hander Joel Payamps (4-2, 3.16 ERA) against Blue Wahoos right-hander Daniel Wright (3-4, 4.56 ERA). The second game, which will begin approximately 30 minutes after the first contest concludes, will pit recently added Jackson right-hander Wei-Chieh Huang (0-0, 0.00 ERA) against Pensacola's Wyatt Strahan (5-6, 6.68 ERA). Broadcast coverage will be available on the Jackson Generals Baseball Network via TuneIn Radio, as well as MiLB.TV.
The Generals swept the Blue Wahoos in their previous skirmish, a five-game series in late May in Pensacola. Jackson finished the First Half 39-30, winning the Southern League's North Division to earn a postseason bid. Pensacola ended the First Half with three consecutive series victories, closing with a 30-38 record in the South Division. Friday's games will mark the beginning of the Southern League's Second Half, the latter 70-game segment of the Southern League season.
