Alaska Aces News Release
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Alaska Mobile Productions, a division of KTUU Channel 2, will be providing live coverage of the Alaska Aces second round series against either Las Vegas or Stockton, with GCI airing all road games on Channel 1. GCI, a presenting sponsor of Alaska Aces hockey since 2003, will telecast the second round games statewide on the local GCI channel in that area. The agreement covers the National Conference semi-finals only; continued coverage hinges on future support of Alaska Mobile Productions, with Shirley Enzor directing.
"When we learned that GCI, KTUU, AMP, and some of their sponsors stepped up to make this happen, we were more than happy to contribute our share. We're happy that once again, our fans will have the opportunity to follow the team on the road on TV as well as with our loyal radio partners at Anchorage Media Group," said Alaska Aces managing member Terry Parks.
For the third consecutive year, Jack Michaels and John Carpenter will anchor the television coverage, with the road games simulcast on the flagship home of Aces hockey, AM 750 KFQD. Carpenter will be providing live updates from either Las Vegas or Stockton each day on KTUU Channel 2. The Wranglers lead their best-of-seven series with the Thunder 3-2, with an opportunity to close out the underdogs tonight on home ice. Game Seven, if necessary, would be played tomorrow, also in Las Vegas. The Aces, winners in four straight over Idaho in the first round, have not played since April 13, with at least one more practice at Ben Boeke Arena scheduled for tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. Alaska went 4-2 against Las Vegas and 5-1-4 vs. Stockton during the regular season.
Playoff tickets are on sale at the team offices at the corner of 15th and Gambell weekdays between 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. This Saturday and Sunday, the offices also will be open from Noon-5:00 p.m. All playoff games, home and away, are broadcast live on the flagship home of Aces hockey, AM 750 KFQD, with coverage beginning 15 minutes prior to the opening face-off.
