
Gavin LaValley Added to FSL All-Star Team

DAYTONA, FL - The Florida State League announced the addition of Gavin LaValley to the 2017 FSL North Division All-Star team Monday afternoon. LaValley joins teammates catcher Chris Okey, second baseman Shed Long, third baseman Nick Senzel and reliever Tanner Rainey to represent the Tortugas at the 56th annual FSL All-Star game. The game will take place at Joker Marchant Stadium, the home of the Lakeland Flying Tigers, on Saturday, June 17, with first pitch at 7:05 PM.
Gavin LaValley is batting .284 with 13 home runs and 39 RBIs in 54 games played. LaValley is second in the FSL in home runs and first in the entire Reds minor league system. He always ranks second in the league in RBIs, fourth in slugging percentage (.534), third in extra-base hits (26) and second in total bases (111). He also has the third best home run to at-bat ratio in the FSL, averaging to homer once every 16 at-bats. LaValley is second on the team with 18 multi-hit games and has played in 54 of Daytona's 55 contests this season. It's the first mid-season all-star game of LaValley's career.
