
Gatewood Has 7 RBI in Bees Blowout

The Salt Lake Bees exploded for ten runs in the fourth inning and rolled to a 16-6 win over the Reno Aces on Wednesday night. Salt Lake led 3-2 when Kean Wong delivered a RBI single to start the scoring in the fourth. One out later, Matt Thaiss came through with a two run single and Jack Mayfield singled with a run scoring on an error. The Bees would load the bases and with two out, Jake Gatewood crushed a grand slam for an 11-2 lead. They would add two more in the inning on a two run double by Jose Rojas, which extended his hitting streak to fifteen games.
Gatewood would add to the lead with a three run homer in the fifth inning, which gave him seven runs batted in for the game. All nine Salt Lake starters record at least one hit each with David MacKinnon, Thaiss, Mayfield, Chad Wallach, Gatewood and Jake Palomaki with two hits each. Brian Moran (3-1) tossed two scoreless innings to pick up the win.
