Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Dodgers try for their longest winning streak of the season when they continue their series against the Sugar Land Space Cowboys at 7:05 p.m. at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The Dodgers have won each of their first five games of the current nine-game homestand and look to start a second straight series 3-0.

Last Game: The Oklahoma City Dodgers scored four unanswered runs, including home runs in back-to-back innings to take the lead, in a 6-3 win against the Sugar Land Space Cowboys Wednesday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Trailing, 3-2, in the sixth inning, James Outman hit a solo home run out to right field to tie the score. The Dodgers took the lead for good in the seventh inning via a solo home run by Miguel Vargas. Ryan Noda added a RBI double later in the inning as the Dodgers connected on four straight two-out hits for a 5-3 lead. Drew Avans' RBI single in the eighth inning gave OKC a three-run lead on the way to a fifth straight victory. Sugar Land led twice in the game, taking a 1-0 lead on a solo home run by Yeiner Diaz in the second inning. The Dodgers responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning with a RBI double by Outman and RBI single by Hunter Feduccia. The Space Cowboys scored two runs in the sixth inning for a 3-2 advantage before OKC came back.

Today's Probable Pitchers: Dustin May (0-0) continues a Major League Rehab Assignment and makes his second appearance with OKC...May started and pitched 2.0 innings July 22 against Sacramento in OKC, allowing one run and three hits, with three walks and three strikeouts. He faced 12 batters and threw 49 pitches (24 strikes)...May underwent Tommy John surgery in May 2021. He made his first outing of this rehab assignment July 16 with the Arizona Complex League Dodgers against the ACL White Sox, pitching 2.0 scoreless and hitless innings. May retired six of seven batters during his first game action in more than 14 months...He started five games for the Los Angeles Dodgers last season before tearing his right ulnar collateral ligament May 1 at Milwaukee and undergoing Tommy John surgery 10 days later. In five starts prior to the injury, May went 1-1 and posted a 2.74 ERA with six walks and 35 strikeouts over 23.0 innings and held opponents to a .186 average...Since making his ML debut in 2019, May has made 31 appearances (19 starts) for the LA Dodgers, going 6-5 with a 2.93 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and .222 BAA...He pitched in seven playoff games in 2020 as the Dodgers went on to win the World Series, posting a 1-0 record and 4.22 ERA over 10.2 postseason innings...May last pitched for the OKC Dodgers during the 2019 season, making five starts...The right-handed pitcher from Justin, Texas was selected by Los Angeles in the 3rd round (101st overall) of the 2016 MLB Draft out of Northwest High School.

Jon Duplantier (4-1) is scheduled to follow May...He also piggybacked May against Sacramento July 22, pitching 3.1 innings. He allowed three runs and four hits, along with two walks and four strikeouts while throwing a season-high 76 pitches. He was credited with a hold during OKC's 10-4 win...Duplantier moved into the starting rotation in mid-June and he is 0-1 in his starts, while the team is 3-1...Right-handed batters are hitting just .135, but lefties are hitting .278. He's holding all batters to a .184 clip with runners on base...Duplantier was selected by the Dodgers from the Giants in the minor league phase of the Rule 5 Draft Dec. 8, 2021 after he had signed with the Giants just four days prior as a minor league free agent...He was selected in the third round of the 2016 MLB Draft by Arizona out of Rice University...Duplantier has made four appearances against Sugar Land this season and is 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA over 6.2 innings with five walks and six strikeouts while holding the Space Cowboys 2-for-20.

Against the Space Cowboys: 2022: 11-3 2021: 12-12 All-time: 23-15 At OKC: 15-8 The Dodgers and Space Cowboys meet for their fourth of five series this season, including the third series of 2022 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark...The teams last met in a three-game series June 7-9 in OKC, with the Dodgers sweeping the set. The Dodgers scored at least six runs in each of the three victories, including two walk-off wins...So far in 2022, OKC is 9-2 against Sugar Land at home with wins in eight straight, including three walk-off wins in the last five games in OKC...The Dodgers also won a three-game road series against the Space Cowboys May 20-22 in Sugar Land, 2-1...Including the current series, Miguel Vargas leads OKC with 19 hits, including four homers, in 14 games and Stefen Romero has a team-best 14 RBI in seven games. Pitcher Ryan Pepiot is 3-0 against the Space Cowboys with 25 K's over 22.2 IP and a 1.59 ERA...The teams split their 2021 season series, 12-12. Both teams went 6-6 on their home fields as Sugar Land played its first season as a Triple-A franchise...The Dodgers have won each of the last seven meetings and 10 of their last 11 games against Sugar Land after they had lost 11 of the previous 15 games going back to 2021.

Life At The Top: The Dodgers have now won five straight games for the first time since April 15-20 and have won six of their last seven games and eight of their last 11 games. They have also won five straight home games for the first time since opening the 2018 season 15-0 in Bricktown...The Dodgers lead the PCL with a 57-38 record and have a 4.0-game lead ahead of second-place El Paso in the East Division standings. The Dodgers have tied their high-water mark for the season at 19 games above .500 (also 46-27 and 47-28)...OKC also owns the league's best home record, going 32-18 so far at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark this season. The Dodgers have already exceeded their home win totals from both the 2021 and 2019 seasons when the team went 30-34 in OKC in 2021 and 30-39 in OKC in 2019, marking the only time in the ballpark's history the team has had consecutive losing records at home...The Dodgers have not won six consecutive games since winning six in a row July 18-24, 2019. Each of OKC's last three five-game win streaks have fallen short of reaching six straight wins, going back through last season.

Drew Point: In his fifth at-bat last night, Drew Avans connected on a RBI single in the eighth inning to extend his on-base streak to 34 games. It is the longest on-base streak by an OKC player this season and the longest active streak in the PCL. He is one game shy of tying the longest on-base streak in the PCL this season set by El Paso's Nomar Mazara, who reached base in 35 consecutive games April 12-May 29...Avans has also hit safely in 19 of the last 21 games. He is on a four-game hitting streak and has also hit safely in 13 of his last 14 games, batting .361 (22x61). He has reached base safely in 48 of his last 49 games and owns the longest on-base streak by a Dodgers player since the 2019 season when Gavin Lux reached base in 37 consecutive games...Avans ranks second in the PCL with seven triples, while his .298 average is seventh, his .388 OBP is ninth and his 22 stolen bases rank tied for eighth...From the start of the season through May 31 (31 games), Avans batted .235 (20x85) with seven extra-base hits, eight RBI and 15 runs scored. Since June 1 (43 games), Avans is batting .329 (55x167) with 11 doubles, four triples, three homers, 20 RBI, 20 walks and 36 runs scored. During that span he ranks third in the PCL with a .411 OBP and 55 hits and he's fourth in batting average.

Getting Miggy With It: Miguel Vargas hit his 14th home run of the season Wednesday as he boosted his PCL-leading season hit total to 105 hits and his league-leading run total to 78 runs. In 14 games against the Space Cowboys this season, Vargas has a team-best 19 hits and 16 runs along with a team-leading four home runs in the season series, slashing .352/.453/.648...Vargas has hit safely in 12 of his last 13 games overall, going 16-for-52 (.308). He's also hit safely in 26 of his last 29 games, batting .342 (39x116) with 12 doubles, four homers, 24 RBI and 24 runs scored...Vargas ranks among the PCL's top five players in doubles (T-2nd, 23), total bases (3rd, 178), walks (3rd, 53), RBI (4th, 68) and extra-base hits (5th, 41).

Show Out, Man: James Outman went 2-for-3 with a double, home run, two RBI and two runs scored last night, providing two game-tying hits. Over the last four games, Outman is 6-for-14 with two home runs, a triple and two doubles. He also has eight RBI and has scored five runs during the stretch. On Sunday, Outman finished with a career-high six RBI, going 3-for-4 with a double, triple and home run, along with a walk and two runs scored. Just 11 days earlier, Outman had set a career-high mark with five RBI July 13 in Tacoma. Outman now has 24 RBI through his first 20 Triple-A games, including 17 RBI in the last 11 games. He's tied with Jason Martin for the team lead with 22 RBI this month...Including his time with Double-A Tulsa, Outman has set single-season career highs with 21 homers and 69 RBI.

The Rundown: Last night marked the third time in the last four games and fifth time in the last seven games the Dodgers scored at least six runs. It was also the 11th time in the team's past 12 victories that OKC scored at least six runs...Over the last 15 games, the Dodgers are 10-5. In the 10 wins, they've scored 93 total runs and tallied at least eight runs in eight the 10 wins, including five games with at least 10 runs. In the five losses, they've scored 17 runs total. In seven of their last eight losses, the Dodgers have been held to three runs or less and they have been held to five runs or less in each of their last nine losses...The Dodgers' .369 OBP ranks second in Triple-A, while their 607 runs scored, .274 AVG, .462 SLG and .831 OPS are third-best in Triple-A...On the other hand, three Dodgers pitchers combined last night to allow three runs and five hits. Starting pitcher Andre Jackson allowed one run and one hit (solo home run) over 5.0 innings. He issued three walks and had six strikeouts. Robbie Erlin earned the win, pitching the final 3.1 innings of the game and allowing one hit and no runs, one walk and five strikeouts. It's the fifth straight game the Dodgers allowed four or fewer runs and they have now won 13 of the last 14 games they've allowed no more than four runs.

Buschwacked: Michael Busch went 2-for-4 with a walk and a double last night, picking up his fourth multi-hit game of the homestand. Over the last five games, Busch is 8-for-17 with three extra-base hits and six walks, reaching base in 14 of 24 plate appearances...Busch has hit safely in 11 of his last 15 games, batting .333 (20x60).

Around the Horn: OKC has started a third straight series 2-0 and seeks a 3-0 start for a second consecutive series after sweeping Sacramento earlier in this homestand... Jason Martin went 2-for-4 Wednesday and has now hit safely in nine of his last 11 games, going 14-for-42 (.333) with four homers and 16 RBI. He's picked up at least one RBI in seven of the 11 games and has six multi-RBI games during the stretch...The Dodgers had a streak of seven straight games with a stolen base come to an end last night (16 SB). They have 18 steals over the last 10 games, going 18-for-19 in their attempts...The Dodgers were held to two walks last night after racking up at least six walks in each of their previous four games and 33 walks through the first four games of the homestand. OKC leads all Triple-A teams with 459 walks this season.
