FULLERTON, Calif. -- The Orange County Flyers, fresh off a win to begin their second half of the season over the St. George RoadRunners, face the team's original manager Garry Templeton and the North Division first half champion Chico Outlaws for a four game series at "The Station" in Fullerton starting tonight. The Flyers send reigning GBL Pitcher of the Year Matt Durkin to the mound against former Major League hurler Mark McLemore tonight with first pitch slated for 7:05pm.
Fans are invited out to the ballpark tonight to take in the Flyers first Sunday home game of the season, and enjoy FREE PARKING at all weekend home games (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) this season.
The Outlaws posted the best record in the GBL in the first half, 33-12, to clinch a playoff berth, while the Flyers wrapped up their first half at 22-23. The two teams will play a three-game series in Chico after the four games at Goodwin Field in Fullerton. The Outlaws (2007) and Flyers (2008) have each won a GBL Championship, and Chico leads the all-time series between these two GBL original franchises, 43-34.
The Flyers are playing eight home games in seven days this week with the final four games against Chico wrapping up a string of 17-straight home games. Tickets are available online or calling the Flyers front office at (714) 526-8326.
