Garcia Sets Record in Sharks Victory

Aaron Garcia broke another record, and several other Sharks had memorable performances in a 62-47 win over the Alabama Vipers, July 3.

Garcia recorded 19 completions for 247 yards and three touchdowns. He is now holds the record for career passing yards and needs four more touchdowns to reach 1,000.

Backup quarterback/utility-man Bernard Morris also helped lead the Sharks offense by recording his second straight three-touchdown performance. Sale' Key returned from the injury reserve to lead the Sharks receiving core with seven catches for 110 yards and two total touchdowns.

The Sharks defense was led by Henry Taylor, Justin Myles and Justin Parrish recorded at least one sack. The win was the since June 4 when the Sharks defeated the Chicago Rush on the NFL Network.

The Vipers only attempted one onside kick in the game after attempting half-a-dozen in the teams' first meeting in Week 2. Morris took the lone onside kick in for one of his three touchdowns.

Vipers starting quarterback Kevin Eakin Suffered an ankle fracture in the first half and did not return to the game.

The Sharks win ended the two game losing streak and kept them right in the middle of the hunt for the post-season. The Sharks are currently in second place behind the Tampa Bay Storm in their division, but lead the wild card race.

The Sharks will travel to face the Utah Blaze on July 9 before returning to Sea Best Field to host South Division leading Tampa Bay Storm.
