Forward Alex Laferriere, one of four NHL draft picks on the Buccaneers roster, was selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the third round (#83 Overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft. The Harvard University-bound skater has charted 19 points (10G, 19A) in 25 games played this season.
In a back-to-back set on Saturday, Feb. 13 and Sunday, Feb. 14, the Steel clash with the Dubuque Fighting Saints in the last action at Fox Valley Ice Arena until the month of March.

The Steel have held Dubuque's leading point-getter, Connor Kurth (10G, 11A), off the scoresheet in two games thus far. The University of Minnesota commit was listed as a 'C'-level prospect on NHL Central Scouting's most recent watch list released on Jan. 21, 2021.
For the first time in the new year, the Steel swept a two-game weekend series in the club's most recent action. Chicago, the first-place team in the USHL and the Eastern Conference, recorded outstanding offensive performances with a 7-3 win on Feb. 5 and followed up with a 9-2 win on Feb. 6 against the Green Bay Gamblers at Resch Center in Wisconsin.
Sean Farrell, the league's leader in points with 52 (18G, 34A), extended his point streak to 23 games, matching the USHL single-season record, with a goal and two helpers in both contests.
After the weekend action at Fox Valley Ice Arena, the Steel embark on a stretch of eight consecutive road games until the club makes the return to home ice on Fri., March 12 against Green Bay.
