Game Preview: Steelhawks at Express

February 25, 2011 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Lehigh Valley Steelhawks News Release

Bethlehem, PA: The Lehigh Valley Steelhawks will kick off their inaugural IFL season this Saturday against their division rival Reading Express at 7 p.m. at the Sovereign Center in downtown Reading. Distanced about 45 minutes from each other, this game marks the first in a series of matchups between the two closest teams in the Indoor Football League. The Steelhawks are entering their first game in team history, while the Express will strap up for their first IFL contest after moving up from their previous league the AIFA.

Both teams are playing it pretty coy before naming starters at many important positions, but with the familiarity of many of the competing players it should make for an interesting battle. Many of the Steelhawks players are former members of the Express organization including Defensive Lineman Chad Clark, Running back Isaiah Grier, Defensive back Marcus Sargeant, and Wide Receiver Moses Mayorine. Also included in that mix is former Express Head Coach Kelly Logan who helps lead the Steelhawks Defensive unit.

"For many of these guys it is a homecoming in a way," stated Steelhawks Head Coach Rich Britt. "These guys are amped up to take the field and finally take what we have learned in practice to the field. It should be a tough, but fun matchup, and think the rest of the IFL is going to see that the Atlantic Division means business."

Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m. Fans coming to cheer on the Steelhawks are urged to wear their black and Vegas gold in support! For those who wish to view the game online, please visit www.b2livetv.com and look up the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks under the "TEAMS" Section.
