Game Preview | Warriors vs Rush
HOME SWEET HOME: The Vancouver Warriors will now settle in for an extended stretch at Rogers Arena, opening their longest homestand of the season with a three-game set beginning this weekend with the Saskatchewan Rush. Vancouver will take on the San Diego Seals on January 19 and wrap up the trio of games on January 26th versus the Colorado Mammoth. Now comes the task of getting a home win. The Warriors dropped their opening game of the season on home turf with a 14-8 setback at the hands of the division leading Calgary Roughnecks on December 21. In addition, the Vancouver franchise in their previous incarnation went 0 for 9 on home floor last season in the Fraser Valley.
SCHUSS WEAPONIZED WARRIOR: Logan Schuss is currently tied for 5th in NLL scoring with 20 points (6 goals and 14 assists. Schuss has a nine-point night on the road in Calgary during the season opener on December 15, and also had a hand in all five goals scored in the 4th quarter comeback against Calgary en route to the Warriors 14-13 overtime win.
MCBRIDE AND BAL - MATCHING FIVE POINT NIGHTS: One of the positive outcomes of the Warriors 10-8 defeat to Georgia last week was the emergence of Jordan McBride and Keegan Bal working some pick and roll magic. Both players notched identical three goal and two assist performances for five-point nights, leaving the Georgia defense looking for answers for the duo. For McBride it was his first three goal night in the NLL in nearly six seasons. For Bal, his three-goal output now gives him a team high seven on the season. Bal is also T2 in the NLL with three goals on the power play.
