@HoustonDash GAME 3 VS. SKY BLUE FC 2016 SEASON GAME NOTES GAME 11 vs. SKY BLUE FC DASH FALL 1-0 TO PRIDE A stoppage-time goal from Jasmyne Spencer gave the Orlando Pride its third consecutive vic- tory over the Houston Dash Thursday evening at Camping World Stadium.
The game-winning goal came in second-half stoppage time when Spencer found Alex Morgan outside the 18-yard box. The U.S. Women's Na- tional Team star crossed the ball into the box past Spencer to Jamia Fields near the penalty spot drawing three Dash defenders as she passed the ball to Sarah Hagen. The second-half substitute found Spencer unmarked eight yards away from goal. The forward scored her second goal of the season with a shot towards the near post.
The Dash have now lost the five consecutive games by an identical 1-0 score line. Two of those games have been to the Pride who defeat- ed Houston on May 20. The Pride visit Houston on Sept. 3 for the final game of the season series. The Pride attack focused on feeding Morgan ear- ly in the game. The USWNT star finished with seven shots and the first came in the 2nd minute when her header went over the crossbar. Continued on page 5 GET TO KNOW CARI ROCCARO Who are your heroes? My family, obvious- ly because they've supported me over my whole soccer career, life and all of my ups and downs. Obviously I wouldn't be here with- out them and they've continued to support me in my new journey with the Dash. I wouldn't say my parents are motivating me to go run fit- ness. As far as motivators, I wouldn't say there's a player I want to emulate but a team - the U.S. Women's National team or for me growing up the youth national teams. I had a goal in mind to win a World Cup and I saw the team last year win a World Cup and that's very motivating for me and that applies to other players who want to play with them and to see that they can do it after working hard. Of course the USWNT, they're my heroes.
What is your favorite soccer movie? I like Bend it like Beckham but I like The Big Green. Do you know what that is? It's like a kid's soccer movie about this crummy soccer team where they put together a bunch of kids and they win the championship. It's old, it's non- sense but I like it.
Who would play you in a movie about your life? Everyone is saying Jennifer Gardner, I guess. I think she kind of looks like me. I think she's a good actress, I like her in 13 going on 30. That's one of her big films.
Continued on page 5 GAME 3 VS. SKY BLUE FC 2016 SEASON GAME NOTES GAME 11 vs. SKY BLUE FC DASH OFFENSIVE WOES CONTINUE BUNGALOWS, SUPERPOWERS AND MORE WITH ROCCARO Continued from page 4 Ten minutes later back-to-back shots went over the crossbar.
Rachel Daly and Chioma Ubogagu weaved passes along the left flank that sprung Ubogagu into the box but her shot went wide of the far post in the 27th minute.
Daly forced a save from Ashlyn Harris a minute later when her shot at the edge of the 18-yard box was deflected at the near post.
Ellie Brush's 25-yard pass found Kealia Ohai at the edge of the 18-yard box. The team captain found Ubogagu at the back post but her shot went wide of the near post.
Denise O'Sullivan controlled Poliana's cross with her chest, between two defenders near the pen- alty spot but her shot went wide of the near post in the 50th minute. Andressa attempted to replicate her last goal against Orlando with a long-range shot that forced a save from Harris in the 55th minute.
Daly dribbled past Kristen Edmonds in the 85th minute but her shot was blocked by Sam Wit- teman. The rebound fell to Poliana who attempt- ed a pass to Cami Privett outside the six-yard box. Monica Hickmann got to the ball first but her first touch was too heavy and the ball fell to Poliana. The Brazilian passed the ball to Becca Moros but her header went wide of the near post.
Continued from page 4 What's the first song you sing at karaoke? I'm pretty good at Ice Ice Baby, I'm really good at it. I can do some Eminem, I can do Lose Yourself.
If you could eat one meal for the rest of your life what would that be? Eggs! I would change how I make them every day but I eat eggs every day. I could do it. It's not my favorite food but I could eat it every day. I feel like I could get sick of pizza or ice cream. With Eggs, you can change it up. One day they're scrambled, then you put it with this or that so - eggs.
What superpower would you like to have? Teleportation, that's an easy choice. I wouldn't have to go to the airport.
What is one place in the world you would like to visit? There are these new bungalows in Jamaica. They just put these houses in the water in Jamaica and I just found them. That's where I really want to go.
Describe your perfect day .
Wake up to breakfast in bed from my personal chef, go play soccer with my team, play with my golden retriever puppy that I just bought. Just relax, maybe go for a boat ride and eat some sushi. Then go to bed. That sounds pretty good to me.

Ching retired following the 2013 season as the club's all- time leader in goals (69 in all competitions).
Ching's performance on and off the field upon his and the team's arrival in Hous- ton made him the face of soccer in the city, a position that he continues in his role in the front office. Ching earned the love and respect of the fans in the in- augural Dynamo game, scoring four goals against the Colorado Rapids. He was a key part of the team's championship runs in 2006 and 2007, and was named 2006 MLS Cup MVP.
After graduating from Gonzaga University, Ching was drafted by the Los Angeles Galaxy in the 2001 MLS SuperDraft. He spent 2002 with the Seattle Sounders in the A-League before being picked up by the San Jose Earthquakes the following year, where he won the 2003 MLS Cup and stayed until the franchise moved to Texas. In 2004, Ching was named MLS Comeback Player of the Year and earned a spot on the Best XI team as he tied for the league lead in goals (12). Ching was named to the MLS All-Star team six times, and finished his career 11th on the all-time scoring list (82).

SKY BLUE FC 2016 SEASON GAME NOTES GAME 11 vs. SKY BLUE FC DASH HEAD COACH RANDY WALDRUM The first head coach in the history of the Dash, Randy Waldrum enters his third year in the professional game after one of the most successful collegiate tenures in NCAA Division I history. Waldrum's career totals of eight NCAA semifinal appear- ances, five title games and two championships (2004 and 2010) all rank second in Division I women's soccer coaching history. His combined win total (399-108-29) and win percentage (.771)-spanning 24 total seasons at Tulsa, Baylor and Notre Dame-both rank fifth in the DI women's soccer record book.
A native of Irving, Texas, Waldrum graduated from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls before playing professionally for the Los Angeles Skyhawks and Indi- anapolis Daredevils of the American Soccer League. After hanging up his cleats, Waldrum spent time at MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas Longhorns Soccer Club and Austin College before starting the men's soccer program at Texas Wes- leyan University in 1988. The next year he took over both the men's and women's teams at Tulsa University, where he spent the next eight years and remains the winningest all-time coach for both programs.
Waldrum returned to Texas in 1995 to start a women's soccer program for Baylor University. In the first three seasons of the program from 1996-98, Waldrum compiled a 46-14-3 record and secured the first Big 12 championship for Baylor in any sport with a 9-0-1 conference record in 1998.
The success at Baylor earned Waldrum the head coach position at national powerhouse Notre Dame, where he found im- mediate success. In Waldrum's first season at the helm, Notre Dame won the Big East tournament and made its way to the NCAA championship match before losing out to North Carolina. Waldrum would go on to win two national championships with the Fighting Irish in 2004 and 2010, as well as 12 Big East regular season titles and seven tournament championships. Waldrum coached five national players of the year (three MAC Hermann trophy winners) and 28 All-Americans while at Notre Dame, and collected five Big East and two national Coach of the Year awards.
In addition to his collegiate responsibilities, Waldrum served as a member of the U.S. Soccer staff since 1992, and was head coach of the U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team from 2012-13.
Randy and his wife, Dianna, have a son, Ben, who served as an assistant coach alongside his father at Notre Dame for five years and is now the affiliate director and part of the ECNL staff at FC Dallas.
GAME 3 VS. SKY BLUE FC 2016 SEASON GAME NOTES GAME 11 vs. SKY BLUE FC DASH ASSISTANT COACHES TOM BROWN JOHN DE WITT Tom Brown joined the Dash after eight seasons as head coach of the women's soccer team at Sam Houston State Uni- versity.
Under Brown, Sam Hous- ton captured its first 10- win season (10-6-5) in 2015 while making its first Southland Confer- ence Tournament championship match in 10 seasons, before falling in penalty kicks. Under the direction of Brown, the squad has qualified for the league tourna- ment the last six seasons, advancing to the semifinals three times.
HIRO SUZUKI MARCELO GALVAO Hiro Suzuki enters his second year as Assistant Coach for the Houston Dash. Before he joined the Houston Dash coaching staff, Suzuki was an Assis- tant Coach for the Men's Soccer team at Yale Uni- versity, where he coached multiple All-Ivy League players over a four-year period. During his time in Connecticut, Suzuki also coached Revolution United FC 97/98 Boys, and he also gained coaching experience in his hometown of San Diego for PQ Premier and San Diego Soccer Club.
Marcelo Galvao, is a na- tive of Brazil and a life- long footballer, playing the beautiful game at the collegiate, semi-pro, and professional levels. A graduate of Judson Col- lege, Marcelo holds a B.A. in Sports Management and multiple Professional Coaching licenses, working with private and public or- ganizations in the U.S., Brazil, Europe and Asia.
