The Lowdown

This will be the fifth time this season that the Pats and the Broncos will meet and the Pats have won the four previous meetings. Over the four meetings, the Pats have outscored the Broncos 18-8. This is the final game of the season between these two clubs at the Brandt Centre with the final 3 coming at the Credit Union I-Plex. The Pats will be without 16 year old forward, Chandler Stephenson, who is playing for Team West at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge in Winnipeg

Bronco Bucks:

The Broncos will be without their top goal getter in Cody Eakin as he is playing for Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championships in Buffalo. This is their 9th straight game on the road, as they went on their BC road trip before Christmas. On this long stretch on the bus, the Broncos are 3-5-0-0.

Broncos:

Stepan Novotny ‚¬" The 20 year old import missed the end of the 1st half of the season with a knee injury, but is still 2nd on the team in goals.

Reece Scarlett ‚¬" The 17 year old defenceman will join the Pats Myles Bell at the 2011 CHL Top Prospects game in mid-January

Justin Dowling ‚¬" The 20 year old forward is having a breakout season, leading the team in assists(31) and points with 43.

Pats:

Jordan Weal ‚¬" the 3rd round pick of the LA Kings is all everything for the Pats leading in goals, assists and points. He is on pace to crack the 90 point mark.

Brandon Davidson ‚¬" the 6th round pick of the Oilers is second on the Pats in assists and points as well as in the WHL ‚¬â„¢s top 10 scoring defencemen.

Lyndon Martell ‚¬" The newest member of the Regina Pats was on a point a game pace with the Prince George Spruce Kings of the BCHL

The Mac ‚¬â„¢s:

The Pats have 12 list players playing at the 33rd annual Mac ‚¬â„¢s Midget Tournament in Calgary. Here are some quick hits from the tournament so far:

Goaltender, Cory Nygaard has a 1-0 record with the Winnipeg Wild

Ty McLean had 2 assists in Tisdale ‚¬â„¢s loss to the Greater Vancouver Canadians

Morgan Klimchuk had 2 goals and an assist in the Calgary Buffaloes win over the Okanagan Rockets

Sillinger to Have Number Retired:

Former Pat great, Mike Sillinger will have his name put to the rafters of the Brandt Centre on January 14th against the Edmonton Oil Kings. Sillinger is the 2nd all-time leading scorer with the Regina Pats and will join Dale Derkatch in having the number 16 retired.

The Pats are back in action this weekend with a pair of home games. New Year ‚¬â„¢s Day, the Pats will host the Prince Albert Raiders, it ‚¬â„¢s a 7pm puck drop, and 24 hours later, the Calgary Hitmen will visit the Brandt Centre for the first time this season, that is a 6pm game time start.
