Bismarck Bobcats News Release
The Bismarck Bobcats (40-13-2, 82 points) play the final game of the regular season against the Alexandria Blizzard (25-25-6, 56 points) Thursday night in the V.F.W. Sports Center. The Bobcats, Central Division Champions of the regular-season, will play the Owatonna Express back-to-back on Friday and Saturday to close out the 2008-2009 regular-season. However, Bismarck and Alexandria will face each other in the first round of the playoffs.
The Sponsor and Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Night that was scheduled for this evenings game has been moved to Saturday, April 4th before Game Two of the first-round of the playoffs against the Alexandria Blizzard.
The last time the Bobcats and Blizzard faced off, the Bobcats prevailed in the shootout 4-3 last Sunday in Alexandria. Bobcat Goalie David Bosner stole the show in the shootout, stopping all five shots he faced. However, Blizzard netminder Ryan Leets was outstanding throughout the night, making 30 saves on 33 shots.
The Bobcats have the fourth best power play in the North American Hockey League at 18.9%. Bismarck's penalty kill is second in the NAHL at 87.9%.
Alexandria's power play is ranked fifth at 17.9%, while their penalty kill is 13th at 83.7%.
