Aberdeen Wings News Release
Your Aberdeen Wings (4-2-0-0) open up the regular season at the Odde Ice Center tonight when they host the Brookings Blizzard (1-3-1-1). The Wings opened up the regular season splitting 4 games at the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, MN. The Wings then went on the road and swept the Minnesota Wilderness. The Two teams did meet for a home and home weekend during the pre-season with each team getting a home win. The Wings led for almost half the game in Brookings on a Peter Morgan goal midway through the 2nd period. However Brookings would respond with just 22 seconds left on the clock and ended up winning in overtime. The Wings returned home the following night and were able to come away with a 3-1 home win. After falling behind early the Wings clawed their way back with goals from Weigel, Powell & Salpeter, all 3 defensemen, to give the Wings a 3-1 win. Team Captain Nic Sicoly & assistant captain Jonathan Bendorf look to stay atop the Wings scoring list. Through the first 6 games the two are tied with 7 points.
Doors open tonight at 5:30 and the Puck will drop at 7:15! The first 100 people through the door will receive a FREE My Place Pineapple Pete Squishy! Get your tickets now at any of the 4 C-Express locations in Aberdeen, or upgrade to reserved seats by calling Aaron @ 605-380-5852. Bring your skates and Skate with the Wings after the game!
