Brownsville Barracudas News Release
Hidalgo, Texas ---- The Monterrey Flash scored early goals to down the RGV Barracudas by a final score of 10-3 on Friday night at State Farm Arena. With the loss the Barracudas reach the half way mark of the season ending 2017 on a dour note.
Monterrey scored four goals in the first quarter and it was started by Miguel Vaca into the first minute of the game. The goal by Vaca would be the first of three goals of the night. The Barracudas responded with a goal from Oscar Ventura to make it a 4-1 score line.
Monterrey would continue scoring in the second quarter with Vaca scoring a brace and closing his tally at three goals for the night. Bryan Aguilar would open his scoring account with an unassisted goal to pad the Flash lead to 7-1.
In the third quarter, the Flash would push the lead to 8-1 as Erick Flores scored off an Aguilar pass. Antonio Manfut scored a goal off a Vicente Matias Vuoso pass that made the game an 8-2 game for the Barracudas.
In the last quarter, the Barracudas added another goal by Fernando Moreno as he scored off a Vuoso pass to make it 8-3. Monterrey would add two more goals to make it 10-3.
RGV goalie Fidel Garcia took the loss pushing his record to 2-5 with two saves on the night. Vicente Matias Vuoso had two assists on the night.
