
Barracudas start road trip with loss

Hidalgo, Texas - The RGV Barracudas dropped the opening game of a three-game road trip against the Ontario Fury on Wednesday night at Citizens Business Bank Arena by final score of 13-4.
The Fury scored three goals in the first quarter with the first 2 goals coming within two minutes of each other when Israel Sesay and Adrien Perez scored to make it 2-0. The third goal was scored by Ouday Belhadj.
In the second quarter, Ontario used another Perez goal off a Wiliam Raygoza pass to make it 4-0. The Barracudas got on the board when Reynol Fuentes found Fernando Moreno to make it a 4-1 game. The Fury scored twice to bump its advantage to 6-1. RGV (3-14) would add another goal from Luiz Mota as he potted home a pass from Salvador Luna to make it 6-2.
After the intermission, the Fury added four more goals to extend their lead 10-2 when Perez scored twice, Belhadj, and Thiago Goncalves all found the back of the net for Ontario.
In the last quarter, the Fury (8-8) continued their scoring spree as they added three more goals as Tino Nunez, Juan Carlos Gonzalez, and Bedhadj scored to make it 13-2. Antonio Manfut found the back of the net off a Moises Gonzalez pass to make it 13-3. Moreno would score again this time off a Miguel Rocha pass to make it 13-4
RGV goalie Fidel Garcia took the loss on 24 saves and his record is now at 2-7.

The Barracudas will continue on the road trip as they will face the E Paso Coyotes at the El Paso County Colisuem with the kickoff set for 9:35 p.m. CST. The next home for the Barracudas is on Monday; February 19, 2018 with the kickoff set for 7:35 p.m. CST.
