Gamblers Announce Pre Season Roster

On Friday the Green Bay Gamblers announced their preseason roster. The players listed on the team's 25-man protected list arrived in Green Bay early this week. The team will play the Dubuque Fighting Saints in an exhibition game in Dubuque, Iowa this Sunday and two games next weekend at the Fall Classic East in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The Gamblers 25-man protected list boasts 17 players committed to NCAA Division I institutions.
The Gamblers look to goaltenders Cam Hackett and Jared Rutledge to add stability to the goaltending position this season. Last season the Gamblers rotated five goaltenders throughout the course of the regular season. Both Rutledge and Hackett come to the Gamblers highly touted.
Along the blueline the Gamblers coaching staff have put together a talent group of defensemen. Leading the way are veterans Jake Linhart, Jordan Gross and Christian Wolanin. The veterans will be joined by newcomers Alex Robert, Matt Nelson, Anthony Walsh, Matthew Purmal, and R.J. Gicewicz.
Up front the Gamblers will be led by veterans Kevin Irwin, Matt Weis, Nick Schmaltz, Ryan Siroky, Sebastian Weberg and Bryan Basilico.
The veterans will be joined by a very talented core of forwards. Dawson Cook, Aaron O'Neill, Ryan Lough, Drew Best, Evan Tironese, Gavin Stoick, Fredrik Olofsson, Jr. Gates and Mitch Synder look to make an impact in their rookie campaign.
The Gamblers kick off the 2013-14 USHL regular season on Saturday, September 21st at the Resch Center as they welcome the Muskegon Lumberjacks. Tickets for the home opener, as well as all 30 home games are now on sale at the Resch Center box office or via the internet at ticketstaronline.com.
