Green Bay Gamblers News Release

Green Bay (Dec. 22, 2009) - The Green Bay Gamblers are introducing the "Bat Trick" to benefit the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary. Starting with the December 31 game at the Resch Center, fans will be able to purchase a toy bat in the team store for $2. One hundred percent (100%) of the proceeds will go to the Wildlife Sanctuary.

As part of the Bat Trick, fans may keep the bats or toss them on the ice when the Gamblers score their first goal in any future game. The bats will be picked up and recycled to the team store where they will be sold again to make more money for the organization.

"Whether the incident was handled correctly or not, the Gamblers want to turn this into a positive for the community and an organization that is committed to rehabbing injured animals and educating the public about wildlife and nature in general," said Gamblers President Brendan Bruss. "We hope our fans will buy the bats and support the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary."
