
Gallant Agrees to Terms on AHL Deal

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (July 13, 2012) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that forward Brett Gallant has agreed to terms on a one-year, American Hockey League contract for the upcoming 2012-13 season.
Gallant, 23, returns to the Sound Tigers for his second full season with the club. The Summerside, PEI native posted three points and 80 penalty minutes in 25 games with the Sound Tigers last season. Gallant made his Sound Tigers debut late in the 2010-11 campaign, scoring one goal and adding 73 penalty minutes in 17 games.
The 6'0, 185-pound forward began his professional career during the 2009-10 season with the Elmira Jackals. In 106 combined ECHL and AHL contests, Gallant has compiled nine points (five goals, four assists) and 475 penalty minutes.
Prior to turning pro in 2009, Gallant played four seasons of junior hockey with the Saint John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and the Summerside Western Capitals of the Maritime Junior Hockey League from 2005-09.
