CARSON, CA (Thursday, January 26, 2006) - The 2005 MLS Cup and U.S. Open Cup champion Los Angeles Galaxy selected four players in the 2006 MLS Supplemental Draft, held earlier today via conference call. Much as it did a year ago, today's draft will help all MLS teams stock their reserve teams for the upcoming season and might include some first team players.

"We have chosen four players that will have the chance to demonstrate they have the qualities to help our side," said Galaxy President and General Manager Doug Hamilton.

With their first round pick (12th overall), the Galaxy took Old Dominion University defender Trevor McEachron. The 6'2" defender was named an NSCAA first team All-American in 2003 and a first-team All-South Atlantic selection in 2002 and 2005.

Picking again with the last selection of the second round (24th overall), the Galaxy nabbed midfielder Dan Paladini from Cal State-Northridge. The native of Van Nuys scored seven goals and added four assists for CSUN in 2005, en route to Big West Conference Conference midfielder of the year honors.

The club's third round selection (36th overall) was Loyola Marymount University midfielder Armando Melendez, a native of El Salvador who now resides in Los Angeles. He selected to the All-WCC second team in both 2004 and 2005.

The Galaxy concluded the draft by picking San Diego State forward Matt Couch. Couch scored eight goals and added five assists in his collegiate career with the Aztecs.

The Los Angeles Galaxy return to the field for a friendly against the national team of Korea Republic on Wednesday, February 8 at 8 pm. Tickets are still available to the match, to be played at The Home Depot Center on the campus of California State University - Dominguez Hills. For more information or to purchase tickets, call the Galaxy ticket office at 1-877-3-GALAXY.
