FC Dallas News Release

DALLAS - FC Dallas concluded the 2006 MLS Supplemental Draft today by selecting five players in the four round draft that was held via teleconference.

The club selected forward Christopher Joyce (1st round, 6th overall) from Franklin Pierce and defender Miguel Guante (1st round, 8th overall) of the University of Portland in the first round. Head Coach Colin Clarke followed those selections by taking midfielder/forward Brad Napper out of Jesuit College Prep in Dallas and Northwestern (2nd round, 18th overall), midfielder Sean Babcock (3rd round, 30th overall) from the University of Portland and forward Peter Louis (4th round, 39th overall) who played his college soccer at Coastal Carolina after being born and raised in Dallas.

"We went into the draft with a number of players targeted, and we were able to get those players," FC Dallas head Coach Colin Clarke said. "Those players are going to be coming into a very, very competitive situation and there are only limited spots available. Last year in the Supplemental Draft we were able to come out with two players who contributed a lot to our season, and we feel that we've found players again this year that can contribute and possibly win starting spots."
