Galaxy announce a special World Cup soccer viewing: Korea vs. France

CARSON, CA (Wednesday, June 7, 2006) - AEG, the Los Angeles Galaxy and the 2006 Korean World Cup Cheering committee have announced a special World Cup partnership today. AEG, the Galaxy and the 2006 Korean World Cup Cheering committee will host a viewing party at STAPLES Center on Sunday, June 18th, 2006 at 12:00 p.m. when Korea will take on France in their second game of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany.

Tickets will be distributed beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2006 at the STAPLES Center Box Office in downtown Los Angeles and The Home Depot Center Box Office in Carson. Fans will be allowed to receive a maximum of four (4) tickets per person.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for the Korean American Community to celebrate their heritage while watching their team compete in the greatest sporting event in the world," said Los Angeles Galaxy President and General Manager Alexi Lalas. "The Galaxy is proud to be a part of the celebration."

"STAPLES Center is pleased to host along with the Los Angeles Galaxy and the Los Angeles Korean American community such a unique event, and an event that is full of pride for the Korean community in and around the Los Angeles area," Lee Zeidman, STAPLES Center General Manager.

During the 2002 FIFA World Cup, the Galaxy, AEG and the Los Angeles Korean American community teamed up to host a viewing party of Korea's bronze medal match on June 29, 2002. More than 18,000 fans attended the 3:00 AM event to watch the game.

"The Korean community is so pleased that the Galaxy & AEG provided the viewing party opportunity in 2002 & 2006. This viewing party is a very meaningful event as it brings the community together. The Korean community will try to find ways to support the Galaxy & AEG and will remember this big present for a long time," said Nam Kwon Kim, 2006 Korean World Cup Cheering committee, Co-Chair.
