Gait Honored for Stellar Start

Gary Gait was voted the Overall Player of the Week and Offensive Player of the Week for his 11-point performance (6G, 5A) as the Colorado Mammoth defeated the San Jose Stealth 17-8 in Week #2. Arizona Sting Goaltender Mike Miron and Buffalo Bandits rookie forward AJ Shannon were also honored for their performances during the first two weeks of the season.

WINNERS WEEKS #1-# 2

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Gary Gait (Colorado) scored six goals and added five assists (6g, 5a, 11pts.) including the game winner in a 17-8 win over the San Jose Stealth. Gait also picked up 11 loose balls.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Mike Miron (Arizona) had 49 saves and 12 goals against in a 16-12 win over the Vancouver Ravens. Miron also picked up seven loose balls.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

AJ Shannon (Buffalo) scored three goals (3g,0a, 3pts) including the game-winning goal in a 12-11 win over the Rochester Knighthawks. Shannon also picked 10 loose balls.

OVERALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Gary Gait (Colorado) scored six goals and added five assists (6g, 5a, 11pts.) including the game winner in a 17-8 win over the San Jose Stealth. Gait also picked up 11 loose balls.

*The first set of weekly player awards cover two weeks (Week #1 and Week #2) since there were only two games played on each weekend. Awards will be weekly for the rest of the season.
