Ontario Fury News Release

The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, have completed two transactions as it prepares for a home-and-home series with the Seattle Impact.

Ontario has signed defender Ernesto Luna, who started this season in the Monterrey Flash organization. Luna has played for Tijuana and Las Vegas in the league, and has eight goals and eight assists in 27 games in his playing career. He was unable to crack the lineup for undefeated Monterrey this season.

In addition to the signing of Luna, the Fury have traded defender Stephen Basso and forward Tyrone Hall to the Rochester Lancers in exchange for cash and future considerations.

Basso, who joined the Fury in the offseason as part of a trade with Rochester, was named to the Major Arena Soccer League team of the week earlier this week after posting a goal and two assists in the Fury's victories over Las Vegas and Turlock last week. He was second on the team in points this season with five goals and six assists in seven games.

Hall joined the Fury as a free agent in the offseason, after playing for the defunct Pennsylvania Roar of the Major Indoor Soccer League in 2013-14. Hall appeared in six games for Ontario, scoring a goal with two assists. He also leads the team with 18 penalty minutes.

"Stephen has been a tremendous player for us this season, but Rochester wanted him home and the opportunity was too good for us to pass up," said Fury president and coach Bernie Lilavois. "Tyrone injected a hard-nosed spirit in this team, but was having a hard time finding his niche in the lineup. The situation will be better for Stephen and Tyrone, playing back closer to home. We wish them luck for the rest of the season in Rochester."

"I enjoyed my time in Ontario and California," Basso said. "Although it was short-lived, I met a lot of good people in the organization and on the team. I want to thank the club for giving me this opportunity. I also want to thank all the fans for their great love and support. I wish the Fury nothing but the best in the future and good luck the rest of the season!"

The Fury also announced a schedule change this week, as the team's home finale against the San Diego Sockers has been moved to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015. Tickets already purchased for the game, which was originally scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 15, will be honored on Feb. 12.

Ontario will return to action at 3 p.m. Sunday for an important Pacific Division battle against the Seattle Impact. The California Highway Patrol will be at Citizens Business Bank Arena starting at noon collecting donations of new toys and sporting goods items for the CHiPs For Kids campaign. Every fan who donates a new, unwrapped item valued at $10 or more will receive a voucher for a free Fury ticket. There will be game booths, an appearance by Santa Claus and a lunch special featuring a hot dog and soda for only $2. Tickets for the game can be purchased at the box office or by calling the Fury's offices at 909-457-0252.
