Omaha Beef News Release
Omaha, Nebraska â Omaha Beef Football today announce Robert Fuller as the team's new General Manager and Head Coach.
"I am very excited to be back with the Omaha Beef," said Fuller. "It is great to be part of a class organization that has a clear vision of what it is going to take to be successful both on the field and in the community. It is important for us to build a program that the City of Omaha can be proud of. A winning team starts with a solid organization. I am excited about working with Terri, Damon and everyone in the Beef organization."
Fuller continued, "This move is a solid opportunity for me and Cathy. We are both looking forward to renewing friendships and getting involved in the community. Making Omaha our home is something we have wanted and are pleased to have this opportunity; we are excited to be a part of the Beef family again."
Fuller made his Head Coaching debut with the Tri-City Diesel in the 2004 season where he led the team to an overall season record of 11-4. With the team's success, the franchise earned it's first ever playoff game as the #3 seed in the Pacific Conference gaining home field advantage verses the Utah Warriors.
During the 2003 season Fuller coached the defensive line for the Beef and celebrated a Pacific North Divisional Championship with the team. Coaching both the offensive and defensive line for the Bismarck Roughriders, he was instrumental in the team's successful 2002 season with an overall record of 12-4. Fuller then returned to the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota as the offensive line and special teams coach. A former graduate of Mary, he helped take the team to the NAIA quarterfinals and the team earned an overall season record of 10-2.
President Jay Noddle said, "We are very pleased to add Robert Fuller to the Beef organization. His commitment to the City and our team by relocating his family to Omaha will strengthen his ties to the community. Robert Fuller will be a strong player and people's coach, our staff and players are looking for an opportunity to move to the next level and Robert will be a big part of that. His commitment to community involvement is also outstanding."
"I'm excited about Robert Fuller becoming the General Manager and Omaha Beef Head Coach. His passion and work ethic are just a few of his qualities that I think will have this franchise continuing its winning tradition. As I've watched him make his ascent up the coaching ranks in the NIFL, I have been impressed not only with his ability to teach and motivate, but also his knack for commanding the respect of his players. His success with the Kearney franchise is a testament to that. We look forward to the continued success of this franchise under Robert's tutelage and guidance." said Director of Business Development Damon Benning.
"I have known Robert for many years. His experience with indoor football both on and off the field will make him a great asset to the organization. This is a great opportunity for both Robert and Beef Football and I am really looking forward to working with him as we prepare of the 2005 season," said Terri Ditzler, Director of Operations.
2005 Player tryouts are scheduled for Saturday, December 18th and Sunday, December 19th at The Millard Soccer Center. Prospective players may request registration information by calling the Beef office at 402-346-2333 or sending an email to GM/Coach Robert Fuller at rfuller@beeffootball.com.
