TOLEDO, OHIO - The Toledo Walleye (39-12-2-1) scored early and often in a 8-1 throttling of the Indy Fuel (15-36-2-2) Sunday afternoon at Huntington Center. The loss was the third in three days for the Fuel, who have only one win over their last 13 games.

Toledo's top-ranked offense built a 7-1 lead after two periods, en route to earning its seventh straight victory. Tyson Spink tallied two goals and two assists to lead the onslaught, while five other Walleye skaters marked multiple points in the rout.

Despite outshooting Toledo 11-7 through 20 minutes, the Fuel found themselves down 4-0 after the first period. The Walleye scored on each of their first three shots on goal, chasing starting goaltender Eric Levine before the game was nine minutes old.

Alden Hirschfeld got the home team on the board at 3:48 with a shorthanded goal, while Jared Nightingale was serving an early double-minor penalty. Under five minutes later, Dylan Sadowy and Mike Borkowski combined for two goals in 46 seconds, ending Levine's evening in favor of Jake Hildebrand.

Spink marked the first of his two tallies at 13:56 of the first period, before finding the net again just 1:53 into the middle frame. Just over a minute later, Shane Berschbach made it 6-0 when he snapped a wrist shot from the slot.

The Fuel got on the board 31 seconds after Berschbach's tally, when Michael Neal deflected a Brandon Martell point shot. Toledo added one more goal before the end of the second period, when defenseman Chris Leone finished off an impressive passing play from Spink and his twin brother Tylor, extending the Walleye lead to 7-1 at 15:30. The Spink brothers tallied a combined seven points on Sunday, with Tylor adding three assists.

Berschbach accounted for the only scoring in the third period, netting his second goal of the game with 4:20 remaining in regulation, bringing the score to the 8-1 final tally.
