INDIANAPOLIS - In the fourth of four head-to-head meetings between the two teams this season, the Indy Fuel defeated the Elmira Jackals on Sunday at Indiana Farmers Coliseum by a final score of 4-2. With the win, the Fuel improved to 29-30-4-6 overall this season and with 68 points, pulled into a fifth-place tie with the Wheeling Nailers in the ECHL's North Division standings, just three points shy of playoff position with three games remaining in the Fuel's inaugural regular-season schedule.

The Fuel grabbed a 1-0 lead at 2:42 of the opening period as Nicklas Lindberg scalded his ninth goal of the season past Elmira goaltender Travis Fullerton on the power-play with Nick Bruneteau and Garett Bembridge picking up assists on the play. Indy extended their advantage to 2-0 at 17:29 when Anders Franzon banked an unassisted, shorthanded marker off Fullerton from below the goal line in the Jackals' zone. Elmira drew within one late in the first, however, when Nardo Nagtzaam hammered a one-timer past Shane Owen at 17:56 to put the Jackals on the board at 2-1.

After the second period slid by mostly scoreless, Nagtzaam poked home his second of the game with less than ten seconds remaining in the middle stanza to knot things at two apiece heading into the third before the Fuel seized control of the game with back-to-back final frame scores from Rhett Bly at 4:59 and Peter Schneider at 6:00 to claim a 4-2 victory. Owen earned the win in net for the Fuel thanks to a 23-save performance while Travis Fullerton took the loss for Elmira despite 29 stops.
