
FSL Names Pitcher and Player of the Week

The Florida State League Named today the Player and Pitcher of the Week for the period August 22 - August 28, 2011.
The Player of the Week was Dunedin Blue Jays Infielder Jon Talley. In four games he collected seven hits in 15 plate appearances for a .467 batting average. His hits included three homeruns and one double. He scored six times and had 12 RBI's. His slugging percentage was 1.133 and his OBP was .467. Jon is in his fifth year of professional baseball and he resides in Carlsbad, CA.
The Pitcher of the Week, for the third time this season, was Clearwater Threshers Right-hander Julio Rodriguez. He started one game, recorded a win with a 0.00 ERA. In seven innings pitched, he allowed two hits, gave up one walk, and struck out eight batters. Julio is in his fourth year of professional baseball, and he resides in Toa Alta, PR.
