Adirondack Frostbite News Release


LAST WEEK: Adirondack won its only game last week, defeating Roanoke 9-4. The Frostbite enter the final week of 2005 with a record of 18-8-1 for 37 points, and are tied with Danbury for first place in the Eastern Division.

Friday, December 23 v. Roanoke FROSTBITE 9 Vipers 4

Hugo Belanger set a new Adirondack team record for points in a game with seven (2g, 5a), while Mike Berry added a hat trick to help end the Frostbite's five-game winless streak. Berry's first goal of the night with 10 seconds left in the first period tied the game at three, and the Frostbite would go on to score three times in a 2:44 span early in the second period to seize control of the game. Derek Gustafson turned aside 22 Roanoke shots to record his ninth win of the season.

THIS WEEK'S GAMES

Tuesday, December 27 v. Motor City 7:05 p.m.

The Frostbite take on the Mechanics in the first of three meetings this season. Adirondack went 3-2-0 against Motor City last season. The Mechanics are 14-11-1 for 29 points and are in fourth place of the Central Division.

PROMOTIONS: The first 1,000 fans in attendance receive a coupon redeemable for a free ice cream cone at Stewart's Shops.

Wednesday, December 28 v. Motor City 7:05 p.m.

Adirondack and Motor City meet for the second and final time this season in Glens Falls.

PROMOTIONS: It's another "Wacky Wednesday" at the Civic Center, will 14-ounce drafts of Bud, Bud Light, and Coors Light just $2. It's also Family Four Pack Night. Fans can purchase four tickets, four slices of pizza, and four sodas for just $50.

Friday, December 30 @ Elmira 7:05 p.m.

The Frostbite take on the Jackals for the third time this season, and for the first time in Elmira. Adirondack is 2-0-0 against Elmira this season. The Jackals are 7-18-4 for 18 points and are in fifth place of the Eastern Division.

Saturday, December 31 v. Elmira 7:35 p.m.

The Frostbite and Jackals meet in the back end of their home-and-home series.

PROMOTIONS: Following the game, join the Frostbite and Glens Falls Civic Center for a New Year's Eve Celebration in Heritage Hall. Music will be provided by Rock City Band, and there will be finger foods, noisemakers, and a cash bar. A midnight champagne toast (21 and over) will be given by Frostbite owner and ESPN NHL analyst Barry Melrose. Tickets can be purchased at the Glens Falls Civic Center Box Office.

Sunday, January 1 @ Danbury 7:00 p.m.

Adirondack opens the 2006 portion of its schedule at Danbury. The Frostbite are 0-4-1 against the Trashers this season, and are 0-2-0 in Danbury. The Trashers are tied with the Frostbite for first place in the Eastern Division.

FROSTBITE NOTES

- The Frostbite ended an 0-for-16 streak on the power play on Friday, going 2-for-6 on the man advantage against Roanoke.

- Fourteen of Adirondack's 18 wins this season have come against Elmira, Richmond and Roanoke.

- The Frostbite are 7-1-1 in one-goal games this season.

NEW YEAR'S EVE CELEBRATION

Join the Frostbite and Glens Falls Civic Center on Saturday, December 31 for a New Year's Eve Celebration. The Frostbite host the Elmira Jackals at 7:35 p.m., with the celebration lasting from 10:00 p.m. through 1:30 a.m. in Heritage Hall. Admission is $10 in advance, and just $8 in advance for Frostbite season-ticket holders. Tickets can also be purchased on the night of the event for $12. Kids 12 and under are admitted free. In addition, the Frostbite and Civic Center are offering a special package, including a ticket to both the game and the celebration for $23, a savings of $2 off admission to the New Year's Eve Celebration. The celebration includes live music by "Rock City Band", performing danceable rock ‘n roll hits from the 70's, 80's, 90's and today, finger foods, noise makers, and a midnight champagne toast (21 and over) with a special celebrity guest. Frostbite players will also be in attendance at the celebration, and a cash bar will be available throughout the night. Attendees will have the opportunity to win fabulous door prizes, including a one-year membership to Flex Appeal Fitness Center, the official fitness center of the Adirondack Frostbite. Tickets for the celebration are on sale now at the Glens Falls Civic Center Box Office in person or by phone at (518) 798-0202, all TicketMaster outlets, and ticketmaster.com. The hockey game and party package discount is only available at the Glens Falls Civic Center Box Office.

FROSTBITE ON THE AIR

All 76 Frostbite regular season games can be heard on WCKM 98.5 FM and on-line at www.frostbitehockey.com with the Voice of the Frostbite, Joe Babik. Each broadcast begins 20 minutes prior to face-off with the Frostbite Pre-Game Show. In addition, all Frostbite games are available to watch on a pay-per-view basis in conjunction with B2 Networks. The B2 Networks feed can be accessed through the Frostbite website at www.frostbitehockey.com. Every Monday during the season, WCKM airs the "In the Box" Show from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Davidson's. The show is hosted by WCKM morning personality, and Frostbite PA announcer, Dan Miner. Dan is joined on the show each week by Frostbite Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Marc Potvin, Frostbite Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations Joe Babik, and a different Frostbite player.
