Frostbite ink two rookie goaltenders

Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Frostbite, member of the United Hockey League (UHL), today signed rookie goaltenders David Burleigh and Pierre-Olivier Girouard to contracts, it was announced by Frostbite Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Marc Potvin. As per team policy, terms of the agreement are not being disclosed.

Burleigh, 24, played his first professional season last year splitting time between the San Diego Gulls and Long Beach Ice Dogs of the ECHL. In 25 games, the Canadian went 11-11 with a goals against average (gaa) of 2.98 and a save percentage of 89.6. Prior to going pro, Burleigh spent four seasons at Miami University (OH). In 135 games with the RedHawks, the 6'0'' 170-pounder had a record of 60-65-7 with a 2.87gaa and a 90.0 save percentage.

Girouard, 20, is making his professional debut. Prior to joining the Frostbite, the 6'6'' 183-pounder skated three seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies and the Drummondville Voltigeur. In 64 games, Girouard went 12-35-2 with a 3.83gaa and a 89.4 save percentage.

Burleigh and Girouard are the 20th and 21st players invited to the Frostbite's training camp for the 2004-05 season. They joins forwards Hugo Belanger, Frank Littlejohn, Trevor Segstro, David Burgess, Sylvain Cloutier, Ryan Bennett, Frank Bakrlik, Scott Page, J.F. Labarre, Kevin Taylor and Nick Burnatowski, defensemen Neil Wilkinson, Scott Drevitch, Kamil Kuriplach, Steve O'Rourke, Jason Jaworski, David Vychodil and Henrik Bergfors and goalie Derek Gustafson.

Season tickets for the 2004-05 season are on sale now at the Frostbite front office located at the Glen Street entrance of the Glens Falls Civic Center. Tickets may be purchased at the office from 9AM to 6PM Monday through Thursday and from 9AM to 5PM Friday or by calling 926-PUCK. Also, UHL All-Star Classic Tickets are on sale to season ticket holders now at the Frostbite office or by calling 926-PUCK. Individual game tickets and All-Star tickets go on sale to the public Saturday at 10am.
