Adirondack Frostbite News Release

GLENS FALLS, NY - The Adirondack Frostbite, proud member of the United Hockey League, announced today that the team has signed defenseman Josh Mizerek to a contract for the 2005-06 season. As per team policy, terms of the agreement were not announced.

Mizerek comes to the Frostbite with five years of professional experience. He spent last season with the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League, where he posted 13 points in 53 games. Prior to last season, the 27-year-old spent the previous four seasons in the ECHL. He enjoyed his best season statistically in 2000-01 with the Baton Rouge Kingfish, posting 29 points (11 goals and 18 assists) in 69 games.

"Josh is an outstanding defenseman who brings a ton of experience to our team," Frostbite General Manager and Head Coach Marc Potvin said. "Defensively, he is as solid as anyone in this league. His ability to move the puck and clear the front of the net will be a great asset for us this season."

Prior to turning pro, Mizerek played four seasons of collegiate hockey at Miami (Ohio) University, tallying 65 points in 144 career games. He was named to the All-CCHA Rookie Team following his freshman season in 1996-97.

Adirondack opens the 2005-06 regular season on Friday, October 21, with a road date at Richmond. The Frostbite open the home portion of the schedule on Saturday, October 22, also against the RiverDogs, with face-off set for 7:35 p.m. at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

Season tickets for the 2005-06 season are still available. For more information, or to place your order, call the Frostbite office at (518) 926-7825. Individual game tickets go on sale at the Glens Falls Civic Center Box Office on Saturday, October 8 at 10:00 a.m.
