Frost Heaves Comeback Falls Short

Wilmington, NC - The Vermont Frost Heaves fall to the Wilmington Sea Dawgs 96-90 tonight in a wild card playoff game to end their inaugural Premier Basketball League season. The game saw the Frost Heaves down by 20 at the end of first half, down by as much as 26 points in the 3rd quarter, valiantly fighting back to reduce the deficit to 3 points in the 4th quarter with 3 minutes to play, only to come up short in the end!

Vermont finishes their inaugural Premier Basketball League season with an overall record of 19-8 and league record of 14-7. Wilmington now moves on to face the league leading Battle Creek Knights in a best of three Semi-Final series beginning Friday Night in Wilmington.

Vermont shot 43% overall tonight and was led in scoring by Benson Callier and Joe Williams with 14 points each, followed by John Williams with 13 points and Greg Plummer with 11 points. Brian Leggett with 21 points and Alex Harper with 18 points led the Sea Dawgs. Overall, the Sea Dawgs shot 48% to the Frost Heaves 43 % and total rebounding was equal at 45 apiece.
