Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
Brandon, MB. - The Brandon Wheat Kings will kick off 2020 Friday night as the defending Western Hockey League champion Prince Albert Raiders make their first appearance at Westoba Place this season.
Friday's game will be the first of seven home games this month for the Wheat Kings, who are coming off a busy 4-game in five night stretch that saw them post a 2-2-0 record, including back to back victories this week over Regina and Moose Jaw.
In addition to providing fans with their first home game of the new year, Friday night is Home Depot Family Skate Night, presented by Q Country 91.5FM and 94.7 Star FM.
All fans attending are encouraged to bring their skates, helmets and cameras to the rink and join their favorite players on the ice following the game for a "free" Public Skate. The fans will be able to "check-in" their skates and helmets in the Keystone Centre's Pioneer Lounge before the game.
The Family Skate will be hosted by Jordan Michelsen of Q Country/Star FM.
In addition to the Skate, the first 1,500 youngsters in attendance will receive a Wheat Kings' mini stick, compliments of Home Depot. Fans will also have an opportunity to purchase an autographed team puck through the first two periods of play for $5. One lucky fan, who winds up purchasing the Wheat Kings' "mystery puck" signed in gold will win a $100 Home Depot gift card.
All funds raised will be donated to Samaritan House Ministries, through the Home Depot Canada Foundation.
