Fresno FC News Release

FRESNO, Calif. - Defender Zachary Ellis-Hayden was announced as a USL Team of the Week selection for Week 23 on Monday after leading the Foxes to a crucial 1-0 win against Saint Louis FC over the weekend.

Ellis-Hayden, 26, scored his first goal of the season against Saint Louis FC, sending in a rocket off the outside of his right foot that pinged off the woodwork and into the net for the eventual game-winner. He also won five of eight duels and recorded three interceptions and two clearances to help the Foxes keep their playoff hopes alive.

It's the second Team of the Week honor of the season for Ellis-Hayden (Week 16) and third of his USL career, doing it once while playing with Orlando City B.

It's also the 10th time Fresno FC has had a player chosen to the USL Team of the Week in the club's inaugural season. Defender Ramon Martin Del Campo was the latest to win the honor in Week 20.

Fresno FC (8W-9L-9D) sits in 10th place with 33 points in the 17-team USL Western Conference, just one point behind eighth-place San Antonio FC (9W-7L-7D) with eight games remaining in the regular season.

Fans can catch Ellis-Hayden Fresno FC in action on Saturday, August 25, when the Foxes head to Las Vegas for its away match against the Lights. Kickoff for Saturday's matchup is at 8 p.m. and can be viewed on CW 59 and ESPN Plus.

The Foxes next home match is Saturday, September 1st against Reno 1868 FC at Chukchansi Park. Tickets are available at tickets.fresnofc.com or the stadium box office. For more information, including group outings, call the Fresno FC Front Office at 559-320-2525.
