Fresh Re-Sign Guard Montrell Williams

FORT WORTH -- The North Texas Fresh announced today they have re-signed guard Montrell Williams. Williams came in late for the Fresh last season replacing Maurice "Snoop" Williams.

Williams (6-0, 170), was a 1st Team All - District and Fort Worth Star - Telegram Selectee in 99 - 2000 for Fort Worth's Trimble Tech High School. He finished his collegiate career at Southwestern Christian; finishing with an All - Conference Selection in his final year. Combing all his career games, he has averaged double digits in points and has lead in team steals, while shooting over .400 from the field, and .699 from the foul line.

In 2009-2010, Willams played in 9 games with the Fresh (starting once) and averaged 8.1 points and 4.3 assists.

The Fort Worth, TX. native is looked at to be a major part of the Fresh rotation as they return to the playoffs for a second consecutive season.

Willaims is one of the key returners that the Fresh have and should be in the running for Defensive Player of the Year with his nact for getting his hands on the basketball. They will look for him to lead their offense at the Point Guard position with his aggression and ability to find open targets.

Fresh leading scorer Jay Bowdy and Williams have been teammates on previous teams; Trimble High School 98 - 2000 and Southwestern Christian College in 2005 - 2006.
