Frenzy get playoff date

March 8, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Cape Cod Frenzy News Release

Boston, MA. The Boston Frenzy has been invited to participate in the ABA's 24-team playoffs. Their first round opponent is to be the Buffalo Rapids. The Frenzy will travel to Hilbert College in Hamburg,NY this Sunday to play the Rapids at 2pm.

Boston is 0-3 against Buffalo but the Frenzy and the Rapids have had some spirited battles this season. The first game was a back and forth game of runs with the Rapids pulling out the win. The second contest was not as close as Buffalo blew out Boston at Buffalo. With the Rapids coming back to play the Frenzy on its home court, the Frenzy were looking for a payback. But with a depleted roster, it was not to be and although the Frenzy cut a 24 point deficit to 2, the Rapids pulled away for the win.

"As most everyone is aware, the playoffs are a new one game season and anything can happen," stated Frenzy head coach Eggie McCrae. "We look forward to the challenge of playing a great team."

Since their last contest, the Frenzy has added some new faces including former Kentucky point guard, Wayne Turner and former Northeastern University star, forward Tyrone Mack. The winner of this playoff game is slated to face the vaunted #1 Rochester RazorSharks the following weekend. At stake is a trip to the Great 8 Tournament in Rochester.

Fans are encouraged to follow the team at www.bostonfrenzy.com or www.abalive.com during the playoffs. For more information, please contact G.M. Ian McCarthy at ian@bostonfrenzy.com.
