Frenzy can't catch Rhythm

Cape Cod Frenzy News Release

Nashville, TN – Trailing by as many as 30 points early in the fourth quarter, the Boston Frenzy's late game charge fell just short to the Nashville Rhythm 114-100.

"We got it as close as 11 points with about four minutes left," said Frenzy assistant coach Lee Davis. "But they hit a big three and some free throws to hang on."

The Frenzy dug itself into a hole with a flat-footed 11 point second quarter. On the back end of a road double header, Boston trailed 56-33 at half and by 30 after three quarters. Former Celtic and Nashville native Dontae Jones led all scorers with 34 points. Jones was one of five Rhythm players in double figures.

Moses Malone Jr. led the Frenzy with 25 points while John Humphrey added 20 and Shannon Crooks checked in with 16 points and seven assists. The Frenzy shot 65% from the line to help drive a 43 point fourth quarter, but the deficit was too big.

The Frenzy (3-5) return to practice on Monday in preparation for their home game Wednesday, December 15th against the rival Harlem Revival. Boston and Harlem tip off shortly after 7 p.m. on the 15th. The game will be broadcast live on WBSM News, Talk, Sports 1420.
