
Free Agent Tryout Camp Scheduled for October 2-3

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, the proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons, has announced a scheduled 2009-10 Free Agent Tryout Camp, held on October 2-3 at Oak Park Ice Arena in Stockton.
The camp, beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, is open to all aspiring individuals interested in advancing their professional hockey careers and will be conducted by Thunder head coach Matt Thomas and coaching staff. Following the two-day camp session, select individual players from each position (one goaltender, one forward and one defenseman) will be invited to participate in the 2009-10 Stockton Thunder training camp session.
Camp registration fee is $100 per player and includes two on-ice practice sessions. Space is limited and reservations will be accepted on a "first-come, first-serve" basis.
Registration will open at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2 and the first on-ice session is scheduled from 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Saturday's registration and ice times will be announced soon.
Player transportation to and from tryouts, accommodations and meals are the responsibility of the attending player. All players must be 18 years of age or older and no participant may be under contract with any other professional team or league. Participating players are required to bring full equipment (including half-visor/shield for skaters and mask for goaltenders).
All free agent tryout camp sessions are open to the media and public for viewing.

The Thunder returns to the ice for preseason play on Thursday, Oct. 8 against the Bakersfield Condors, starting at 7:00 p.m. at Stockton Arena. The 2009-10 season, the fifth-year anniversary for the team, launches on Friday, Oct. 16 at Qwest Arena against the Idaho Steelheads at 6:10 p.m. and the Thunder home opener is Friday, Oct. 23 against the Ontario Reign at 7:30 p.m. at Stockton Arena.
