Fredericksburg Baseball "Name the Team" Contest Submission Window Now Open

Fredericksburg, VA - With Opening Day for Fredericksburg Baseball's new stadium facility set for April 2020, the organization is excited to announce a "Name the Team" contest, which is now open and will run through Wednesday, May 1st.

Fredericksburg Baseball is in search of team monikers to follow "Fredericksburg" in the franchise's official team name. Many fans have indicated their support for retaining "Nationals" as the team name, as the franchise's affiliation with the Washington Nationals will continue in Fredericksburg.

Other creative and locally-flavored names have been suggested, as well. "The team encourages everyone in the community to participate in this process and help us determine what name best fits Fredericksburg," said Team President Lani Silber Weiss. "We're also looking for other creative and entertaining ideas - from kids to seasoned fans - on mascots, logos, and other concepts."

Fredericksburg Baseball will collect team name submissions from fans via a survey available on fredericksburgbaseball.com. Through this survey Fredericksburg Baseball fans can share their team name concepts with the club, and the organization will select the best of the best team name concepts, which will then be put up to a final vote by Fredericksburg Baseball fans.

Fredericksburg Baseball fans may access the survey and submit their team name, mascot, color scheme, logo, and uniform design ideas via: http://bit.ly/FXBGNameTheTeam, Fredericksburg Baseball's Facebook page, and Fredericksburgbaseball.com. Fans are also encouraged to submit images and graphics to accompany suggested team names and mascots. These images can be shared with Fredericksburg Baseball via e-mail at NameFredericksburgBaseball@gmail.com.

The selection process, and then voting, will culminate in the official announcement of the Fredericksburg... as the team heads into the 2020 season.
