Freddie Falcon Hosts Mascot Party Tonight at Granville Home of Hope

FRESNO, CALIF. - The Fresno Falcons announced today that Freddie Falcon will host a Mascot Party tonight from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Granville Home of Hope, located at 6979 W. Stuart Avenue in Fresno.

Freddie's Mascot Party is open to the public, and admission is free. All fans are encouraged to arrive early for free hair cut offers from Supercuts; free ice skating vouchers from Gateway Ice Center; free crazy bread from Little Caesar's; and free tickets for the Falcons home opener against the Bakersfield Condors on October 24, all while supplies last. Other mascots scheduled to attend the Mascot Party are: Snowball (Gateway Ice Center), Parker (Fresno Grizzlies), The Delicious One, Wienerschnitzel, Little Caesar, Eye-Q Eye Balls, Red Robin, Incredibear (John's Incredible Pizza), Banana Man (Jamba Juice), Hometown Buffet Bee, George the Pink Gorilla (University Village), and Happy Star (Carl's Jr.).

Falcons' defenseman Daryl Marcoux will also be in attendance to meet fans and sign autographs.

Granville Homes introduced the Home of Hope fundraiser in 2006 as a way of raising money to provide food, shelter, healthcare and education to those in need. Granville Homes along with the help of trade partners donated a beautiful brand new home complete with many luxurious upgrades as a grand prize for the 2008 raffle which will be awarded to one lucky winner on October 11, 2008. Participants will have the opportunity to win several other exciting prizes. Tickets may be reserved for $100. The Falcons also remind fans that individual-game tickets for all 2008-09 regular season home games will go on sale tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Selland Arena Box Office, all TicketMaster outlets, on-line at www.ticketmaster.com, or by phone at (559) 485-8497.

Opening Night 2008 at Selland Arena is set for Friday, October 24, when the Falcons host their arch-rivals, the Bakersfield Condors, at 7:35 p.m. Season Ticket packages start at just $432, and are now available by calling the Falcons at (559) 485-7825.

Began in 1988-89 with five teams playing in four states, the Premier 'AA' Hockey League has grown into a coast-to-coast league that will have 23 teams in 16 states and British Columbia playing 828 games from Oct. 17, 2008 to Apr. 4, 2009. Eighteen of the 23 teams have played at least five years in their current city.

The third-longest tenured professional hockey league behind only the National Hockey League and the American Hockey League, the ECHL averaged 4,174 per game last season, marking the fourth year in row and the 16th time in the last 18 years that the league has averaged over 4,000 fans. The league has drawn over four million fans each of the last five years and 11 times in the past 12 seasons.
