RoadRunners Agree To Terms With DaSilva

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks and the Worcester Sharks, announced today that forward Dan DaSilva has agreed to terms on a contract for the upcoming 2008-09 season.

DaSilva, 23, appeared in 54 games with the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League last season and collected nine goals and 23 points. The Monsters are the primary affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche.

DaSilva has amassed 23 goals, 24 assists, 47 points and 110 penalty minutes in 122 career AHL games with Lake Erie, Albany, and Lowell since turning pro in 2005. The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native and fourth-year professional also tallied five goals and eight points during a brief four-game stint in 2005-06 with the San Diego Gulls of the ECHL.

DaSilva's signing marks the second time in his career that he will skate for an Arizona-based club. He recorded nine goals and 22 points in 14 games with the Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League during the Sundogs' inaugural 2006-07 season.

DaSilva registered 30 goals or more in consecutive seasons with the Portland Winter Hawks of the Western Hockey League. He has posted 37 goals, 40 assists, and 77 points in 140 career games.

DaSilva joins a RoadRunners' roster that already includes forwards Mitch Carefoot, Wes Clark, Kimbi Daniels, Andrew Desjardins, Bryan Esner, Gino Guyer, James McEwan, Daniel Sisca, Peder Skinner and Chris Stevens; defenseman Matt Burke, T.J. Campbell, Rob Dmytruk, Bryan Nathe, and Tom Sawatske; and goaltender Paulo Colaiacovo.

Phoenix will play a two-game pre-season series against the Florida Everblades Oct. 10-11 at Germain Arena in Estero, Fla.

The RoadRunners open their fourth ECHL season Oct. 17 when they welcome the Victoria Salmon Kings to US Airways Center for a three-game Opening Weekend series.
