Frahm; Bryant Back for 2015
December 22, 2014 - Frontier League (FL)
Rockford Aviators News Release
LOVES PARK, IL - Two more familiar faces will be returning to Loves Park as Matt Frahm and Kenny Bryant have signed contracts to remain with the Rockford Aviators through the 2015 season. Frahm and Bryant will each be entering their third season with the club.
Frahm, a right-handed pitcher from McLean, Illinois, was plagued by injuries several times last season, but was very strong when he was in the lineup. He finished the season with a 1-1 record and a 3.28 ERA. As a member of the Aviators, Frahm is now 7-2 with one save in 68 games played.
"We look for Matt to come in healthy this year and be a key contributor in the back of the bullpen," said Aviators Manager, James Frisbie. "If Matt can stay healthy, he has a chance to be really good for us."
A fan favorite at first base, Bryant returns to the Aviators for a chance to once again be one of the best at his position in the Frontier League.
Last season, Bryant appeared in all 95 games for the Aviators and posted a .279 batting average along with five home runs and 51 RBIS.
"Kenny has been a mainstay at first base for the Aviators the last two seasons," said Frisbie. "We look for Kenny to continue to build on his offensive numbers and continually play solid for us again."
Bryant has been an ironman of sorts for the Aviators as he has played in all but one game in the last two seasons.
"Both Kenny and Matt have great character and are very good for our organization," said Frisbie.
The Aviators begin their 2015 campaign on May 15 on the road against the Gateway Grizzlies and Opening Day at Aviators Stadium will be May 19 as the Aviators host the Traverse City Beach Bums.
