Fourth Quarter Rocks Toronto Past Vancouver
February 24, 2024 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Vancouver Warriors News Release
HAMILTON, ON - The Vancouver Warriors put up a valiant effort against the NLL's top team, but a strong fourth quarter of four consecutive goals propelled the Toronto Rock to a 9-5 win before 7611 fans on a Steel City Saturday Night.
Aden Walsh picked up his first start of the season and was impressive for the West Coast Visitors. Playing in front of family and friends, the second-year pro kept the stellar Rock offence from rolling, turning aside 37 shots out of 46 faced.
However, NLL league leader Nick Rose was one better, thwarting 45 of 50 Vancouver shots as the Warriors outshot the home side 50-46.
Kyle Killen also took advantage of home cooking. In the loss, Killen scored twice, with Ryan Martel, Kevin Crowley and Riley Loewen rounding out the scoring for Vancouver. Martel finished the night with a goal and three helpers for a team-high four points.
