Ontario Fury News Release

The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, are proud to announce that four key members of the Fury's inaugural team will return for the 2014-15 Major Arena Soccer League season.

Indoor soccer veterans Majell Aterado, Tino Nunez, Sanaldo and Tiguinho will suit up for Ontario as it launches its second season in an exhibition game Oct. 19 against the Mexican National Indoor Soccer team.

"These four players are our core," said Bernie Lilavois, the team's president and head coach. "Each one brings such great experience on the field and leadership in the locker room that I am confident that we will challenge for a playoff spot."

Nunez, who resides in Long Beach, was the Fury's leading goal scorer in the 2013-14 season, netting 22 goals in 11 games. He posted the team's first three-, four- and five-goal game last season, and has the fastest goal from the start of a period, scoring 10 seconds into a period against Sacramento last Nov. 17. When not playing for the Fury, he is the girls soccer coach at his alma mater, Long Beach Millikan High School.

Tiguinho, originally from Brazil, was the team leader in assists and points last season for Ontario. He came to Ontario after a successful stint with the MISL's Wichita Wings, and held down important minutes in the Fury midfield. In 11 games, he posted four assists in a game twice, and scored the most points in a single game by a Fury player, recording two goals and four assists in the team's season finale in February. Over the summer, Tiguinho led the Fury's successful summer youth camps and coached Ontario's developmental teams in the Premier Arena Soccer League.

Aterado was the first player signed by the Fury for the inaugural season. The veteran was named the team's first captain, and posted six goals and seven assists in 12 games for Ontario. The midfielder also worked this summer in the Fury's summer camp at the Scheu Family YMCA of Upland.

Goaltender Sanaldo is a long-time veteran of indoor soccer in the United States. He posted a 5-8 record with a 8.11 goals against average for the Fury, making 162 saves. Among those 162 stops, he was credited with a 25-save game in the season finale at Las Vegas and an 18-save game the week before at home against Las Vegas. He also posted five assists from his position in the back.

The Fury will open training camp at the Scheu Family YMCA on Oct. 1 in preparation for the Oct. 19 matchup. The camp will include signed players and invited players from Fury Premier and a recent tryout at the Toros Mexico facility in Tijuana, Mexico.

Tickets for the Oct. 19 game - a doubleheader that will also feature the U.S. National Indoor Team vs. the Las Vegas Legends -- and the entire season are on sale now through the Fury's website (OntarioFury.com) and the Citizens Business Bank Arena box office. Individual game tickets start at $10, while season tickets start at $90 for 11 home games.
