Four Nashville SC Players Pay Visit to Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt

NASHVILLE - Nashville Soccer Club players spent a portion of their off-day on Wednesday at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt visiting patients and families. Forward Tucker Hume, midfielder Matt LaGrassa, defender Taylor Washington and keeper Danny Vitiello hung out and talked soccer with some of Vanderbilt's long-term patients at the Children's Hospital.
The four players arrived and initially were interviewed at the hospital's Seacrest Studios, broadcast to all the rooms of the children's hospital. Get to know you questions were asked to the four Nashville SC players as well as what other sport they would play if they weren't playing soccer. LaGrassa had an unconventional answer in that he would play tennis. Washington said he would run track, no surprise given his speed. Hume and Vitiello both said they would play football.
A fun game all four NSC players got to play was "Beanboozle," a question game that punishes participants for wrong answers by making them eat odd-flavored jelly beans. The subject of the game? Disney Trivia. Luckily for all four players, some of the children at the hospital were on hand to help out on the answers.
From there the players split up and went to hospital rooms. Conversations ranged from soccer to other sports to fishing to even Avengers and Harry Potter. The players gave away Nashville SC bracelets and stickers to the children during their time visits.
Patients and families got pictures with the players as the Boys in Gold did their best to help pull the children's minds away from being in the hospital.
Nashville SC has made, and will continue to make, trips to Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt throughout the season.
