Four GreenJackets Earn Promotion to High-A Rome

NORTH AUGUSTA, SC: The Augusta GreenJackets, in conjunction with the Atlanta Braves have officially announced a series of player moves affecting the GreenJackets' roster.
Four GreenJackets will be heading to the Rome Braves which includes right-handed pitcher Miguel Peña, infielder Geraldo Quintero, outfielder Brandon Parker, and catcher Victor De Hoyos.
Miguel Peña was one of the most reliable arms in the Augusta bullpen this season, obtaining an ERA of 3.13 in 21 appearances that covered 31.2 innings. The right-hander struck out 41 batters during that stretch compared to 12 walks and also earned 2 winning decisions and 1 save.
Geraldo Quintero led the GreenJackets in extra-base hits with 37, including 9 triples, good for second-most in the Carolina League. Quintero drove in 47 runs and stole 26 bases, the team leader in both categories.
Brandon Parker transformed into Augusta's top power bat in 2022 as he hit 10 home runs with 40 RBIs and most notably leaves the GreenJackets with a .930 OPS, the highest mark among currently qualified hitters in the Carolina League. Parker came on in a strong way once the month of June began as he hit 9 of his homers and collected 32 RBIs in that 42-game stretch.
Catcher Victor De Hoyos will also join the Rome Braves. De Hoyos hit 2 home runs and 10 RBIs in 22 games with Augusta this season, including a signature performance on April 27 versus Delmarva where he had five hits and five RBIs, finishing just a triple shy of the cycle.
Other roster moves include Eliezel Stevens being transferred to the Florida Complex League. Connor Blair and Brian Klein have been released from the organization.
The GreenJackets will now welcome the addition of seven players from the Atlanta Braves 2022 Draft Class. Those players consist of:
C Drake Baldwin (3rd Round, Missouri State)
3B David McCabe (4th Round, Charlotte)
C Andrew Keck (10th Round, Southeast Missouri State)
RHP Ian Mejia (11th Round, Nex Mexico State)
1B Justin Janas (12th Round, Illinois)
SS E.J. Exposito (16th Round, Long Island University)
SS Keyshawn Ogans (20th Round, California)
All seven players will join the GreenJackets in Fredericksburg on Tuesday for the start of their series versus the Nationals.
The tenth homestand of the season for the GreenJackets begins on Tuesday, August 16 against the Charleston RiverDogs (Tampa Bay Rays) with First Responder Tuesday and $2 TWOsday featuring $2 Bud Light from 6-8 p.m. The week continues with Warrior Wednesday, the Corona Bucket Special, and Baseball Bingo. Thursday is a double-header at SRP Park starting at 5:05 with a special appearance from the Dueling Pianos Group and Thirsty Thursday. The weekend begins with Sweetwater Night at the ballpark with specialty jerseys with an auction that will benefit North Augusta Forward/FROG in addition to Braves BUZZFest. The White Claw Pregame Concert Series starts off Saturday Night with live music from Greg Fortune from 4:30-5:30 with a postgame fireworks extravaganza to follow. The homestand wraps up Auggie's Birthday Bash as you can celebrate the birthday of the best mascot in CSRA!
